To launch our 2023 golfing season. St Patricks Day will see a 4-person team competition, followed by the WGC Shamrock Cup on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th March. After Golf join the celebrations in the clubhouse.
All members are reminded they must be in good standing in relation to their membership fee by the 1st April 2023. Failure to do so will mean members are not eligible to represent the club in competitions. Furthermore, non-compliant members will not be allowed to enter club competitions. For details listing WGC competition regulations, please find attached ‘WGC Terms of Competition 2023’.
The seasonal Presentation of Prizes and timesheet draws will recommence on Wednesday 5th April. Following a review and feedback from members it has been decided the presentations will now take place at 8pm sharp with the weekend timesheet draw to follow at 8.30pm sharp. Presentations will be for the previous Wednesday and Weekend competition winners. To support our sponsors, it is expected that those who have won prizes will be in attendance. For members availing of later tee times in the Wed 4ball, members can enter for the timesheet draw prior to commencing play in the 4ball with their name and preferred tee time listed on their entry.
The Long Handicap 9-hole Singles will resume on Monday 3rd April 2023.
Plans for Easter WGC OPEN Weekend of Golf include the following competitions:
• Good Friday April 7th – Mixed OPEN 9-hole Singles.
• Easter Saturday April 8th – OPEN 3-person 18-hole Scramble.
• Easter Sunday April 9th – OPEN V Par 18-hole Singles.
• Easter Monday April 10th –OPEN 18-hole 4-person team.
Reminder: Please repair pitch marks on greens, place rakes in bunkers after raking and carry a sandbag to mend divots and always avoid slow play.
